The Bisons looked to get their fifth straight victory over the Railriders on Saturday afternoon. The Railriders looked to break their losing streak against Buffalo. Luis Cessa got the start for the Railriders. Buffalo gave the ball to TJ House. Cessa started the game with a 1-2-3 inning. Clint Frazier hit a one out double to center but House would retire the next two batters to keep him at second. Dwight Smith reached on a error with one out then Jason Leblebijian drew a walk to make it first and second then would make it second and third after a groundout. Alex Monsalve drove in Smith to make it 1-0 Bisons. Cessa retired Shane Opitz to get out of the second. House retired the Railriders 1-2-3 to keep the Railriders off the board. Cessa threw a 1-2-3 3rd to keep the deficit to one run. Ji-Man Choi led off with a single then Tyler Wade reached on a error with one out but House retired the next two to get out of the inning. Mike Ohlman led off with a homer to center for a 2-0 Buffalo lead. Cessa retired the next three batters to keep it 2-0. House threw a 1-2-3 fourth to keep the Railriders off the board. Cessa threw a 1-2-3 fifth for the Railriders. House threw another 1-2-3 inning in the fifth for Buffalo. Rowdy Tellez drew a one out walk. After a flyout, Smith drew a walk then Leblebijian singled home Tellez for a 3-0 Bisons lead. Jason Gurka replaced Cessa on the mound for the Railriders. Gurka struck out Ian Parmley to end the Top of the sixth. Clint Frazier drew a one out walk but House induced a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning. Alex Monslave led off with a homer to left for a 4-0 Bisons lead. Jake Elmore then hit a two out single to left but a groundout ended the inning. Rob Refsnyder led off with a double to center then moved to third on a fly out by Donovan Solano. Refsnyder would score on a sacrifice fly to center by Mason Williams. Ruben Tejada drew a walk but House was replaced by Jeff Beliveau and he would get Choi to fly out to left. Giovanny Gallegos came in to pitch the 8th for the Railriders. Ohlman drew a lead off walk and moved to second on a wild pitch and Dwight Smith also drew a walk then Leblebijian hit a three run homer to left for a 7-1 Bisons lead. After a strikeout, Gallegos would be replaced by Tyler Jones. Jones would retire the next two batters to get out of the eighth. Beliveau threw a 1-2-3 eighth to keep the Buffalo six run lead. Ernesto Frieri came in to pitch the ninth for the Railriders. Christian Lopes led off with a walk. Following a flyout, Tellez singled to left, moving Lopes to second. Following a strikeout, Dwight Smith hit a three run homer to right to make it 10-1 Buffalo. Leblebijian drew a walk but a force out got the Railriders out of the inning. Leonel Campos entered the game to pitch the ninth for Buffalo. Refsnyder hit a one out double to center then Solano drove in Refsnyder to make it 10-2 on a double to center. Campos got the last two outs to seal the 10-2 victory at PNC Field.
Thoughts on the game: Buffalo just was the better team this afternoon. They hit four homers.
News: Dietrich Enns was placed on the DL, not expected to pick up a ball for almost a month. Tyler Webb was brought up from Trenton.
