Syracuse at SWB Railriders Game 8

The Syracuse Chiefs and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders continued their four game series on Friday night. Anthony Swarzak was the starter on the mound and Pablo Espino started for the Chiefs. Trea Turner led off the game with a double and moved to third on a grounder to second by Brendan Ryan. Scott Sizemore drew a walk and Matt Skole would double home Turner and Sizemore to give the Chiefs a 2-0 lead. Skole moved to third when Jason Martinson sac bunted to the catcher but Freiman struck out swinging to end the top of the first. Aaron Judge hit a one out home run to right to cut the Chiefs lead to 2-1 but back to back strikeouts ended the inning. Tony Campana singled with two outs but a forceout ended the inning. Espino threw a 1-2-3 2nd inning. Scott Sizemore drew a 1 out walk but a 6-4-3 double play ended the top of the 3rd. Espino retired the side on another 1-2-3 inning. Caleb Ramsey singled with two outs but a forceout ended the inning. Espino would make 9 in a row with another 1-2-3 inning. Trea Turner singled with one out but another 6-4-3 double play ended the threat. Donovan Solano singled to left with one out and Chris Parmelee walked. Pete Kozma doubled to left and scored Solano to tie the game at 2 but a pop out and a strikeout ended the 5th. Diego Moreno came in to the game for the Railriders. Matt Skole drew a one out walk but back to back strikeouts ended the top of the 6th. Sam Runion entered the game for Syracuse. Aaron Judge led off the inning by reaching on an error and then Rob Refsnyder walked and Judge moved over to third after a double play but Nick Swisher doubled home Judge to give the Railriders a 3-2 lead then Donovan Solano singled home Swisher. Runion got a strikeout to end the 6th. Caleb Ramsey led off the 7th with a double but Moreno retired the next 3 to end the top of the 7th. Ben Gamel hit a 2 out single to center and then Aaron Judge hit another single to center. Rob Refsnyder singled home Gamel to increase the lead to 5-2 and Judge would be at third for the final out of the 7th. James Pazos entered the game for the Railriders. Brendan Ryan drew a walk to lead off the 8th and Jason Martinson walked with two outs but Pazos got a strikeout to keep it 5-2. Erik Davis entered the game to pitch for the Chiefs. Nick Swisher and Donovan Solano each hit one out singles to make it first and second, but a 6-3 double play ended the inning. Caleb Ramsey lead off with a double to left and would score on a Trea Turner single. Conor Mullee comes in to pitch for the Railriders and would strike out Brendan Ryan to end the game and the Railriders have won their 5th straight game by knocking off the Chiefs 5-3.
