MLB Roundup April 7th

The Red Sox/Indians was postponed due to weather


Reds 10 Phillies 6
Jay Bruce went 3 for 4 with 2 Home runs and 5 RBIs as the Reds went to 3-0 with a high-scoring victory over the Phillies. Eugenio Suarez also homered for the Reds. Ryan Howard, Cedric Hunter, and Carlos Ruiz homered for the Phillies.


White Sox 6 Athletics 1
Mat Latos had 6 strong innings, giving up 1 hit and Jose Abreu homered as the White Sox took 3 of 4 games in Oakland. Chris Coghlan went 2 for 4 with an RBI.


Marlins 6 Nationals 4
David Phelps pitched 4 innings of relief, giving up 2 hits and striking out 3 and Martin Prado and Adeiny Hechavarria had 2 RBIs each as the Marlins won their first game, beating the Nationals 6-4. Bryce Harper homered for the Nationals


Yankees 8 Astros 5
The Yankees got Home runs from Mark Teixeira, Bryan McCann and Starlin Castro as they took 2 out of 3 games from the Astros. Tyler White and Preston Tucker homered for Houston.


Giants 12 Dodgers 6
Hunter Pence homered and Joe Panik tripled as the Giants became the first team to score off the Dodgers this season. Joc Pederson homered for the Dodgers.


Orioles 4 Twins 2
Joey Rickard hit a tiebreaking 2-run HR in the eighth inning for his first MLB homer and Manny Machado homered as the Orioles swept the Twins to go to 3-0. Joe Mauer homered for Minnesota.


Cubs 14 Diamondbacks 6
Anthony Rizzo went 3 for 4 and was a double away from the cycle and had 6 RBIs as the Cubs go to 3-0. Jean Segura hit a leadoff home run and an inside the park home run in the second inning for the Diamondbacks.


Angels 4 Rangers 3
Albert Pujols hit a walkoff single off Shawn Tolleson to give the Angels their first win of the season. Yunel Escobar homered for the Angels. Robinson Chirinos homered for the Rangers.
