Rochester at SWB Railriders Game 2

In Game 2 of the Doubleheader between the Rochester Red Wings and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders would be a 7 inning contest. Kyle Haynes was the starting pitcher for the Railriders. Pat Dean got the start for the Red Wings. Kyle Haynes would start off the game with a 1-2-3 inning. Pat Dean would start the game with a 1-2-3 inning as well. Kennys Vargas led off the top of the 2nd with a single to center. Buck Britton then followed with a single to right to make it first and second with no outs. Adam Walker then flew out to right for the first out. Then Darin Mastroianni would single on a ground ball that was deflected by the second basemen to load the bases with 1 out. Juan Centeno would drive in 2 on a single to right field to make it 2-0 Red Wings. Heiker Meneses would then walk, but a strike out and a fly out ended the top of the 2nd. Cesar Puello walked with 2 outs but Eddy Rodriguez struck out to end the inning. Buck Britton would double with 2 outs but a ground out would end the Red Wings threat. Pat Dean would pitch a 1-2-3 3rd inning. Mastroianni and Juan Centeno would lead off the top of the 4th with walks but Heinker Menses struck out and James Beresford would ground into a double play to short to end the top half of the inning. Slade Heathcott would single with 2 outs in the 4th and Deibinson Romero reached on an error then Cesar Puello singled home Heathcott to cut the Rochester lead to 2-1 but a strikeout ended the inning. Jorge Polanco lead off the 5th with a bunt single but would later be erased on a 6-4-3 double play and a Kennys Vargas strikeout ended the top of the 5th. Ben Gamel would reach on a throwing error then advance on an errant pickoff throw but Aaron Judge would ground out to third and end the 5th inning. James Pazos came in to pitch for the Railriders. Pazos would pitch 1-2-3 6th to keep the Red Wings lead at 1. Rob Refsnyder lead off the bottom of the 6th with a double to left and Slade Heathcott would hit a bunt single to move Refsnyder to third. Loek van Mil came in of relief of Pat Dean for the Red Wings. van Mil would induce a ground out to short for the first out and Heathcott would move to 2nd. Cesar Puello would intentionally walk Puello to load the bases and would later backfire as Eddy Rodriguez singled home Refsnyder and Heathcott to give the Railriders a 3-2 lead. Jonathan Diaz would later double to left to score Cesar Puello and the Railriders made it 4-2. Ben Gamel would continue the rally as he singled to left and score Rodriguez and Diaz to make it 6-2. Aaron Judge would hit a line shot back to van Mil and he would leave the game with a leg injury. Dan Runzler would replace van Mil for Rochester. Ben Gamel would score on a wild pitch to make it 7-2. Diego Moreno came in to pitch for the Railriders. Heiker Meneses drew a 1 out walk but back to back strikeouts would end the game and the Railriders would win their first game of the season with a 7-2 victory over the Red Wings.
