The Red Wings and Railriders played a doubleheader tonight. Game 1 was the continuation of last night's rained out game which was a 9 inning game and the second game would be a 7 inning contest.
Game 1's starter was Chad Green for the Railriders and Tyler Duffey was on the mound for the Red Wings. Jorge Polanco hit a 1-out triple in the top of the first and would later score on a Max Kepler RBI groundout to make it 1-0 Red Wings. Rob Refsnyder drew a 1 out walk and Slade Heathcott singled but a Gary Sanchez fielder's choice ended the inning. Chad Green would settle down in the 2nd, throwing a 1-2-3 inning. Tyler Duffey would match Green in the bottom of the second inning, having a 1-2-3 inning. Jorge Polanco hit a 2-out single but ended up caught stealing 2nd to end the top of the 3rd. Pete Kozma drew a leadoff walk, would later advance on a grounder by Ben Gamel but a strikeout and a ground out ended the threat for the Railriders. Max Kepler would hit a leadoff single, would later forced out at 2nd. The Red Wings later 1st and 2nd with 2 outs but a groundout to Parmalee ended the top of the third. Slade Heathcott started the bottom of the 4th with a double, but Duffey would retire the next 3 batters to end the 4th. The rains would come and there was a rain delay that would delay the game til 5 PM on Friday. Tyler Cloyd came in to pitch for the Railriders. Cloyd would throw a 1-2-3 5th to keep it 1-0 Red Wings. Brandon Kintzler entered the game to pitch for the Red Wings. Kintzler was close to a 1-2-3 inning but Gamel struck out on a wild pitch and reached 1st base and Gamel would steal 2nd to put him in scoring position but Aaron Judge would strike out to end the inning. Jorge Polanco leadoff the 6th with a triple and would score on a sac fly RBI by Max Kepler to make it 2-0 Red Wings. Kennys Vargas singled and Reynaldo Rodriguez would reached on an error, but back-to-back strikeouts by Cloyd ended the top of the 6th. Slade Heathcott hit a 1 out single in the bottom of the 6th but after a Gary Sanchez strikeout, Heathcott would end the inning by getting caught stealing 2nd to end the bottom of the 6th. Cloyd would throw a 1-2-3 7th inning. Taylor Rogers came in to pitch for the Red Wings. Chris Parmelee lead off with a walk but Rogers settled down and retired the next 3 batters. Kennys Vargas drew a 2 out walk but a ground out to short ended the top of the 8th. Aaron Judge hit a 2 out double but a pop out and a fly out ended the inning. Nick Goody came in to pitch for the Railriders. Adam Walker lead off the inning with a home run of the season to make it 3-0 Red Wings. Goody would retire the next three. JR Graham came in to pitch for the Red Wings and would throw a 1-2-3 9th inning to get the save. The Rochester Red Wings would take the victory 3-0.
