MLB Roundup April 5th

Astros 5 Yankees 3
Carlos Correa homered and Dallas Keuchel went 7 innings, striking out 5 as the Astros took an Opening Day victory over the Yankees. Starlin Castro drove in 2 on a double and Didi Gregorius homered hit a solo home run.


Red Sox 6 Indians 2
David Price struck out 10 in his Red Sox debut as the Red Sox defeated the Indians 6-2. David Ortiz and Mookie Betts homered for the Red Sox. Yan Gomes had an RBI single for the Indians.


Mets 2 Royals 0
Noah Syndergaard had 9 strikeouts and Neil Walker hit his first home run as a Met as the Mets took their first win of the victory 2-0 over the Royals. Alcides Escobar tripled for the Royals.


Pirates 6 Cardinals 5 (11)
Jordy Mercer singled in Gregory Polanco in the bottom of the 11th as the Pirates beat the Cardinals 6-5 in 11 innings. Gregory Polanco tripled and had 2 RBIs for the Pirates. Jedd Gyorko homered for the Cardinals.


Tigers 8 Marlins 7
Ian Kinsler singled in Anthony Gose as the Tigers won their first game of the season as they knocked off the Marlins 8-7 in 11 innings. Anthony Gose and Victor Martinez hit back-to-back home runs for the Tigers. The Marlins scored 3 runs in the 9th to force extra innings.


Rays 3 Blue Jays 2
Logan Forsythe and Corey Dickerson each homered in the 8th inning as the Rays won their first game of the season as they knocked off the Blue Jays 3-2. Edwin Encarnacion and Michael Saunders drove in the lone runs for the Blue Jays.


Mariners 10 Rangers 2
Nelson Cruz and Robinson Cano homered as the Mariners took their first win of the season 10-2 over the Rangers. Elvis Andrus and Robinson Chirinos drove in runs for the Rangers.


Giants 2 Brewers 1
Brandon Crawford homered and doubled as the Giants improved to 2-0 as they knocked off the Brewers 2-1. Ryan Braun doubled for the Brewers.


Cubs 6 Angels 1
Dexter Fowler, Anthony Rizzo and Matt Szczur homered as the Cubs go to 2-0 for the first time since 1995 with a victory over the Angels 6-1. Craig Gentry drove in Yunel Escobar for the Angels' lone run.


Dodgers 3 Padres 0
Yasiel Puig had a 2-run triple in the 4th and later scored as the Dodgers defeated the Padres 3-0. Jon Jay and Cory Spangenberg singled for the Padres.


Diamondbacks 11 Rockies 6
Jean Segura and Paul Goldschmidt homered and the Diamondbacks scored 6 runs in the 7th to get their first win of the season over the Rockies 11-6. Trevor Story homered for the second straight day for the Rockies.


White Sox 5 Athletics 4
Jimmy Rollins broke a 4-4 tie in the 9th with a Home Run and David Robertson then threw a 1-2-3 inning and the White Sox took the victory against the A's. Todd Frazier also homered for the White Sox. Jed Lowrie drove in 2 runs for the A's.
