Story of the Week

-The week has been basically been about a rookie named Trevor Story of the Colorado Rockies. In 6 games this week, Story has hit 7 HRs, which is a major league record for most home runs in that span.
-The Padres this week were pretty hot and cold. In their first 3 games against the Dodgers, they failed to score a run in 27 innings, which was a major league record. It extended to 30 innings in their game at Colorado but after that inning, they ended up scoring 13, 16 and 3 for a combined 32 runs in 3 games. Hard to believe, right?
-The Cubs have come into this season expected to be one of the favorites to win a World Series, well they had some devastating news occur as slugger Kyle Schwarber collided with Dexter Fowler in the outfield where he tore his LCL and ACL and would miss all of this season. This would hurt most teams, but this team had great depth in their outfield as they signed Jason Heyward in the offseason and surprisingly re-signed Dexter Fowler to play centerfield. Kris Bryant can move to left field if needed or Jorge Soler and Matt Szczur can play there as well. As for their lineup, with guys like Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant, this team was set in their lineup, especially with them signing Ben Zobrist. So I would say this team will just fine. Speaking of them on the field, the Cubs ended up taking 3 of 4 in Arizona and are now 5-1 on the season.
-Well, it's an even year, so does that mean possibly another World Series for the Giants? Well, they are starting off well, they are in 1st place in the NL West at 5-2, still a long way away but hey we have seen this before about the Giants.
-The Orioles have been quite surprising early on with them being the lone undefeated team left in the majors. But Manny Machado has looked very good in the first week, hitting .429 with 3 home runs. Also one of their new additions Mark Trumbo is hitting .474.
-The Mets have started off the season a little disappointing, sure they split with the Royals but then they came home and lost 2 of 3 to the Phillies. I know it's a bit early to panic but still a little concerning.
-The Yankees acquired Starlin Castro from the Cubs this offseason and has the move payed off in the first week. He's hitting .452 with 2 Home runs and 8 RBIs. Brian McCann has also been hitting well in this early season, hitting .467.
-A rookie who is generally hitting very well but is being overshadowed by Trevor Story is Houston Astros first baseman Tyler White, he's hitting .556 with 3 HRs and 9 RBIs, not as gaudy as Trevor Story's number but that is still pretty impressive. He is tied for the team lead in HRs with last year's rookie of the year Carlos Correa.
-The defending World Series Champion Kansas City Royals have at a 4-1 start. Today, they won a game on a walk-off wild pitch, pretty crazy how the Royals win games.
