The SWB Railriders returned home after a 3 game sweep of the Pawtucket Red Sox and took on the Syracuse Chiefs. Taylor Jordan got the start for the Chiefs. Tyler Cloyd was the starting pitcher for the Railriders. The Railriders also welcomed Nick Swisher to their lineup. Brendan Ryan drew a one-out walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch and back-to-back strikeouts by Cloyd ended the inning. Jordan started the bottom of the 1st with a 1-2-3 inning. Brian Goodwin drew a one-out walk but a popout and a fly out ended the top of the 2nd. Gary Sanchez hit a one out double to center and Nick Swisher singled to move Gary Sanchez to third. Cesar Puello grounded into a fielder's choice from third, forcing out Swisher and Jordan got a fly out to left to end the 2nd. Tony Campana led off the top of the 3rd with a walk, but Cloyd retired the next 3 batters to keep the game scoreless. Jordan threw another 1-2-3 inning to end the third inning. Brian Goodwin hit a 2 out double to left but Cloyd induced a popout to end the top half of the 4th. Jordan threw another 1-2-3 inning in the fourth. Caleb Ramsey led off the top of the 5th with a walk and top prospect Trea Turner hit a one out single to right, but a line out and a forceout ended the threat. Pete Kozma hit a two out ground rule double to left center but a groundout kept Kozma at second to end the 5th. Tyler Webb came in to pitch for the Railriders replacing Tyler Cloyd. Aaron Judge hit a one out single to right but a groundout and a strikeout ended the top of the 6th scoreless. Webb threw a 1-2-3 7th inning. Sammy Solis entered to pitch for the Chiefs in the 7th and threw a 1-2-3 inning. Webb would throw another 1-2-3 inning in the 8th. Solis retired the side in order again in the 8th. Nick Goody entered the game in the 9th to pitch for the Railriders and threw a 1-2-3 9th inning. Trevor Gott came in to pitch for the Chiefs in the ninth. Aaron Judge led off with a walk, Rob Refsnyder singled to move Judge to 3rd and Slade Heathcott would be intentionally walked to load the bases. Gary Sanchez would fly out to center and Swisher grounded into a forceout to Syracuse first basemen Matt Skole who threw home to force out Judge and Cesar Puello struck out swinging to end the 9th and force extra innings. Caleb Ramsey led off the top of the tenth with a single advancing to second on a sac bunt by Tony Campana and Trea Turner walked. After Nick Goody struck out Brendan Ryan, Vinnie Pestano came in to the game to pitch for the Railriders and would strike out Scott Sizemore to end the top of the tenth. Gott retired the side 1-2-3 to end the tenth. Pestano would throw a 1-2-3 11th inning. Nick Masset came in to pitch for the Chiefs. Slade Heathcott reached on an error with two outs and then Gary Sanchez hit a walk-off home run to left field and the Railriders took the victory 2-0 in 11 innings.
