Steven Souza went 4 for 4 with 2 Home Runs, a double and 4 RBIs as the Rays salvaged a split with the Blue Jays 5-2. Josh Donaldson hit a 3-run home run for the Blue Jays.
Brewers 4 Giants 3
Chris Carter hit a sac fly in the 7th to put the Brewers ahead for good and Jeremy Jeffress had a 1-2-3 inning to secure the Brewers' first victory 4-3 over the Giants. Matt Duffy homered for the Giants.
Mariners 9 Rangers 5
Robinson Cano hit 2 home runs and the Mariners scored 5 runs in the 9th to take the victory over Texas 9-5. Prince Fielder hit a 3-run home run for the Rangers.
Rockies 4 Diamondbacks 3
Trevor Story hit a home run for the 3rd straight game and DJ LeMahieu also homered as the Rockies took down the Diamondbacks 4-3. Nick Ahmed went 2 for 4 with a home run.
Tigers 7 Marlins 3
Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a Home run and drove in 4 and Victor Martinez hit a pinch-hit home run as the Tigers improved to 2-0 with 7-3 victory over the Marlins. Adeiny Hechavarria had 2 doubles for the Marlins. Jose Fernandez recorded 13 strikeouts for the Marlins in the loss.
Indians 7 Red Sox 6
Mike Napoli and Carlos Santana each homered and Cody Allen had a 1-2-3 inning for his first save of the year as the Indians won their first game of the season, 7-6 over the Red Sox. Brock Holt, David Ortiz, and Hanley Ramirez homered for the Red Sox.
Orioles 4 Twins 2
Chris Davis homered and Yovanni Gallardo went 5 innings, striking 4 and giving up 2 hits and 1 run as the Orioles improved to 2-0 with a 4-2 victory over ther Twins. Trevor Plouffe homered for the Twins.
Pirates 5 Cardinals 1
Juan Nicasio went 6 innings, giving up 1 run and 2 hits and striking out 7 as the Pirates swept the Cardinals to improve to 3-0. Andrew McCutchen went 2 for 4 with a run scored and John Jaso tripled.
Yankees 16 Astros 6
Both teams bats came alive tonight, they combined for 14 runs in the first two innings and the Yankees would end taking their first victory of the season. Mark Teixeira, Carlos Beltran and Starlin Castro each homered for the Yankees. Carlos Correa hit 2 home runs for the Astros.
Reds 3 Phillies 2
Scott Schebler hit a walk off double, scoring 2, as the Reds went to 2-0 with a 3-2 victory over the Phillies. Maikel Franco hit a home run for the Phillies only 2 runs.
Nationals 3 Braves 1
Matt Den Dekker hit a tiebreaking double in the 7th inning and Jonathan Papelbon recorded his 2nd save of the season as the Nationals beat the Braves 3-1. Adonis Garcia went 3 for 4 for the Braves.
Dodgers 7 Padres 0
Kenta Maeda had 6 shutout innings and hit a home run as the Dodgers shut out the Padres for 3 straight games. Yasiel Puig went 3 for 4 with a solo home run. The Padres set a major league record with 27 scoreless innings. Matt Kemp went 2 for 4 for the Padres.
Athletics 2 White Sox 1
Sonny Gray went 7 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits and struck out 5 to get the win on the mound and Mark Canha homered to give the A's their first victory of the season. Jimmy Rollins drove in Austin Jackson on a sac fly for the lone White Sox run.
