Lady Royals pull away for road victory over Nanticoke

The Holy Redeemer Lady Royals traveled to Nanticoke to take on the Trojanettes. The Royals still have an outside chance of taking the WVC Division 2 title but would need some help. The Trojanettes are hoping to clinch a tie for the Division 2 title with a victory. Who would come out on top in this Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 matchup? Let's get to the game!
The game started back and forth but the Lady Royals would go on a 6-0 run after the Trojanettes were leading 5-3. With the Trojanettes down 11-7 around the end of the first quarter, Lisa Radziak would hit a three from really long range just before the buzzer would trail 11-10. Nanticoke would go on an early 5-0 run for a 15-11 lead. After Samantha Rajza cut the Trojanettes lead to a point and got a stop on the other end, Katie Butzcynski would get a steal and layup to extend the lead to 19-16. After a Trojanette free throw and a Royals basket, Lisa Radziak would hit another three pointer to make it a five point game and Nanticoke would lead 31-27 at halftime.
After the Trojanettes made the first basket of the quarter, the Lady Royals would go on a 12-0 run and would lead by six. The Trojanettes wouldn't quit as Butczynski and Bella Czeck made baskets to cut the lead to two. After a pair of free throws by Rajza, Katie Butczynski would make a basket and Amiah Lukowski followed with a three pointer to lead 42-41 at the end of the third quarter. The Royals' Samantha Yencha started off the quarter by scoring eight straight points and the Royals never looked back after that as they took the road victory over the Nanticoke Trojanettes 62-49. The Trojanettes can still take the WVC Division 2 title if they win out. The Royals would have to win out and hope Nanticoke loses two of their last three games. A tiebreaker can happen if Nanticoke loses once and Holy Redeemer wins out.

Thoughts on the game: I was impressed by the Royals overall. Samantha Rajza had a very good game with her 18 points and kept them in during the first half. Samantha Yencha just took over early in the fourth quarter and then the Royals pulled away from Nanticoke. For Nanticoke, Lisa Radziak had a really good game, scoring 17 and had some really impressive three pointers.
