Crestwood gets past Berwick
The Crestwood Comets hosted the Berwick Bulldogs on Thursday night. Both teams are playing for playoff positioning in this WVC Crossover matchup. Berwick comes in as the fifth seed in District 2 4A and Crestwood comes in as the three seed in District 2 5A. Who would come out on top in this matchup? Let's find out!
The game started off looking even until Crestwood started turning turnovers into points. They would take a 12-6 lead at the end of the first quarter with Mike Palmiero scoring eight of their 12 points in the quarter. The Bulldogs would cut the lead to three with a Kenny Marshman three pointer but a Crestwood 13-3 run would make it 25-10 and would have a 30-15 at halftime. The third quarter would be back and forth as the teams would trade basket but the highlight of the quarter would be when Sean Murphy would drive to the basket, but would miss and Ryan Petrosky would put it back to make it 37-24 at the end of third quarter. The Comets would cruise in the fourth quarter to take a 54-36 victory.
Thoughts on the game: Crestwood looked really good throughout the game. Comets junior Mike Palmiero had a really good game, scoring 18 points. Evan Knapp also had a really good game, scoring 11 points. For Berwick, I thought Kenny Marshman played a really good game, he had 11 points.
