The Chicago Bears traveled to Green Bay to take on the Packers in the first Sunday Night football game of the season. The Bears made a splash almost a week ago as they traded for Khalil Mack from the Raiders. The Packers come in with a healthy Aaron Rodgers who missed most of last season with an injury. Green Bay is hoping to get back into the playoffs after missing out last season. Who would come out in this matchup of NFC North rivals? Let's find out!
The Packers would start with the ball and on second on 9, Jamaal Williams would go for 11 yards. However, the Packers wouldn't be able to move the ball and would be forced to punt. The Bears would start their first drive of the game and on second and 3, Jordan Howard would go for four. The Bears would face a third and 2 and Tarik Cohen would go for 11 yards. On the next play, Mitch Trubisky would find Taylor Gabriel for 31 yards. On third and 2, Trubisky would find Trey Burton for 15 yards to the Green Bay 2 yard line. Trubisky would go in from two yards out and a 7-0 Bears lead. The Packers would go three and out on their next drive. The Bears would go on a nine play drive that would end in a 26 yard field goal by Cody Parkey and a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter. Each team would go three and out. The Packers would go three and out but on third down, Aaron Rodgers would be sacked and would be injured on the play. The Bears would go four and and the Packers would take over at their own 46. They faced a third and 6 and DeShone Kizer wouldfind Randall Cobb would 29 yards to the Bears 21 yard line. Kizer would find Devante Adams for 11 to the Bears 10 yard line. On third and goal, Kizer would be sacked by Khalil Mack and would force a fumble and recover the fumble. The Bears would go three and out. On third and 9, Kizer would find Ty Montgomery for 13 yards. They would face a third and 19 after a first down sack and Kizer's pass would be intercepted by Mack and returned 27 yards for a touchdown and a 17-0 Bears lead and that would be the lead for the Bears at halftime.
The Bears would start the second half with the ball and would go on a 12 play drive that would end with a 33 yard field goal by Cody Parkey and a 20-0 lead. Aaron Rodgers would return to the game on the first Packers possession of the second half and would go 12 plays that would end with a 42 yard field goal by Mason Crosby to put the Packers on the board. The Bears would go three and out on their next drive. The Packers would drive down the field as we head to the fourth quarter. On second and 9, Rodgers would find Cobb for 10 yards to the Bears 47 yard line. On second and 2, Rodgers would find Geronimo Allison for a 20 yard touchdown to cut the Bears lead to 20-10. The Bears would go three and out once again. On second and 10, Rodgers would find Cobb for 51 yards to the Bears 24 yard line. On second and 4, Rodgers would find Adams for six and on the next play, Rodgers would find Adams again and would go 12 yards for the score to make the Bears lead 20-17 with 9:01 to go. The Bears would take over and go on a long drive that would result in a 32 yard field goal by Parkey to make it 23-17 with 2:42 to go. The Packers would take over and would face a third and 10 and Rodgers would find Cobb and he would run past the Bears defense on his way to a 75 yard touchdown to give the Packers a 24-23 lead with 2:13 to go. The Bears would take over with two timeouts and needing a field goal to take the lead. The Bears looked like they would have a first down but an ineligible player downfield would negate the play as we headed to the two-minute warning. The Bears would face a fourth and 9 and the pass would fall incomplete but the Packers would get called for roughing the passer and the drive would continue. The Bears would face a fourth and 10 and Trubisky would get sacked by Nick Perry and recovered by the Packers and would run out the clock as the Packers would overcome a 20-0 lead as they knocked off the Bears.
