The Baltimore Ravens traveled to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals on Thursday night. The Ravens are coming off a blowout victory over the Buffalo Bills. The Bengals are coming off a close victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Who would come out on top in this matchup of AFC North rivals? Let's find out!
The Ravens and Bengals first possession of the game ended in three and outs. On the Ravens next possession, Joe Flacco would be intercepted by Jessie Bates and returned to the Baltimore 16 yard line. On the next play, it looked like the Ravens would get an interception on the play but upon further review, the pass would ruled incomplete. On third and 6, Andy Dalton's pass would fall incomplete but pass interference on Ravens would make it first and goal at the one. On second and goal at the four, Dalton would find AJ Green for the touchdown and a 7-0 Cincinnati lead. The Ravens would punt on their next drive. The Bengals would go five plays that would end in a 32 yard touchdown pass from Dalton to Green for the second time and a 14-0 Bengals lead. The next drive would result in a three and out once again for the Ravens. As we entered the second, the Bengals would go 12 plays and Dalton would find Green for their third straight touchdown early second quarter. The Ravens would go ten plays and Allen would go in for a one yard touchdown that would cut the lead to 21-7. The Bengals would answer with a 12 play drive that ended with Dalton going to Tyler Boyd for a 14 yard touchdown and a 28-7 Bengals lead. The next Ravens possession would end on a turnover on downs. The Bengals would go three and out and would give the Ravens the ball with 1:08 to go in the second quarter. On second and 10, Joe Flacco would go to Alex Collins to the Ravens 41 yard line for 22 yards. Flacco would find Michael Crabtree for 17 yards on the next play. Next play, Flacco would find Mark Andrews for 11. A pass interference on the Ravens on the next play would move the ball to the one yard line and on third and goal, Flacco would find Andrews for a one yard touchdown and cut the Bengals lead to 28-14 as we head to halftime.
The Bengals would start with the ball and would punt on the possession. The Ravens would only need five plays that would end with a 55 yard field goal to cut the lead to 28-17 in favor of the Bengals. Both teams would trade punts and turnovers during the third quarter and the Ravens would take over early fourth quarter. The drive would go 12 plays and end with Flacco going to John Brown for a 21 yard touchdown. The two point coversion would fail and it would be 28-23. The Bengals would strike back with a 10 play drive ended with a Randy Bullock 28 yard field goal to make it an eight point game with 3:03 to go. The Ravens would face a third and 10 and Flacco would be sacked and would fumble and recovered by Dre Kirkpatrick. The Bengals would get a 40 yard field goal and make it 34-23 with 2:29 to go. The Ravens would get the ball back with no timeouts left but would run out of time before they could score as the Bengals would take down the Ravens 34-23.
