New Year, New Expectations

With the first week now in the books, there were some interesting results and debuts. The one thing I realize when it comes down to the first two to three weeks. You never know what to expect with all these teams. You might think a team in the offseason made some decent moves and look like they can turn the corner. However, the team didn't end up panning out and they would have a disappointing season or a team exceeds expectations and have a great season. So with all that being said, here is what happened in Week 1. As well as a new feature in an NFL Top 10 teams.

Week 1 NFL Scores
Bengals 34 Colts 23
Andy Dalton threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns and Joe Mixon ran for 95 yards as the Bengals would spoil the Colts home opener. Colts QB Andrew Luck threw for 319 yards and two touchdowns in his first start since 2016.

Jaguars 20 Giants 15
Blake Bortles threw for 176 yards and a touchdown and linebacker Myles Jack returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown as the Jaguars took the road victory over the Giants. Saquon Barkley had 106 yards and his first NFL touchdown in his debut for the Giants.

Vikings 24 49ers 16
Kirk Cousins threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns and Mike Hughes returned an interception 28 yards for a touchdown as the Vikings start off 1-0 with a home victory over the 49ers. QB Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 261 yards and a touchdown.

Patriots 27 Texans 20
Tom Brady threw for 277 yards and three touchdowns and TE Rob Gronkowski had seven catches for 123 yards and a touchdown as the Patriots took down the Texans. DeShaun Watson threw for 176 yards and a touchdown.

Buccaneers 48 Saints 40
Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 417 yards and four touchdowns and DeSean Jackson had five catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns as the Buccaneers took down the defending NFC South Champion Saints. Alvin Kamara had three total TDs on the game for the Saints.

Ravens 47 Bills 3
Joe Flacco threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns and Kenneth Dixon had a rushing touchdown as the Ravens would blow out the Bills at home. Josh Allen came in relief for the second half and threw for 74 yards.

Steelers 21 Browns 21
Steelers RB James Conner ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start and the Browns defense forced six turnovers as the Steelers and Browns played to a tie.

Dolphins 27 Titans 20
QB Ryan Tannehill threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns in his return from an injury and wideout Kenny Stills had four catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Titans RB Dion Lewis ran for 75 yards and a touchdown.

Chiefs 38 Chargers 28
Tyreek Hill had seven catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a punt return for a touchdown and QB Patrick Mahomes threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns in his first NFL start as the Chiefs took the road victory in LA. Chargers QB Philip Rivers threw for 424 yards and three touchdowns.

Redskins 24 Cardinals 6
Adrian Peterson ran for 96 yards and a touchdown and Alex Smith threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns in their debuts as the Redskins took down the Cardinals. Cardinals RB David Johnson scored the lone touchdown.

Panthers 16 Cowboys 8
Cam Newton threw for 161 yards and ran for 58 yards and a touchdown and Alex Armagh scored a one yard touchdown as Carolina would go to 1-0 with a home victory over the Cowboys. Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott ran for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Broncos 27 Seahawks 24
Case Keenum threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns in his Broncos debut and wideout Emmanuel Sanders had 10 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown as Denver took down Seattle. Seahawks QB Russell Wilson threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns.

Jets 48 Lions 17
Rookie Sam Darnold threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns and Darron Lee had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown as the Jets would score 31 points in the third quarter and beat the Lions. Lions safety Quandre Diggs returned an interception for a touchdown.

Rams 33 Raiders 13
Jared Goff threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns and Marcus Peters returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown as the Rams took the road victory in Oakland. Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch ran in for their only score.
