Yankees take ninth straight win, take down Angels

The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim finished up their three game series on Sunday night. The Yankees is looking to complete a three game road sweep. The Angels are looking to prevent the sweep at home. Veteran CC Sabathia is the starting pitcher for the Yankees. The starter for the Angels is Tyler Skaggs.
 Skaggs would start off with a 1-2-3 top of the first. In the bottom of the first, Mike Trout would draw a one out walk but a lineout and a groundout would end the inning. Giancarlo Stanton drew a walk to lead off the top of the second but Skaggs would retire the next three to keep the game scoreless. Sabathia would throw a 1-2-3 second for the Yankees. Gleyber Torres would draw a one out walk but Skaggs would get back to back strikeouts to end the top of the third. Ian Kinsler would hit a two out double to center then Trout would reach on an error to get Kinsler to third but a groundout would end the Angels' threat. Stanton would hit a one out double to left then Gary Sanchez would hit a home run to left for a 2-0 Yankees lead. A strikeout and a flyout would end the top half of the fourth. Zack Cozart would hit a two out single to left but a forceout would end the fourth. Gleyber Torres would reach on an infield single but a line out and a strikeout would end the Yankees threat. Sabathia threw a 1-2-3 fifth inning for the Yankees. After a popout, Justin Anderson came in to pitch for the Angels. Anderson would get a strikeout and a groundout to end the top of the sixth. Justin Upton would reach on an infield single then Albert Pujols followed with a single to center to move Upton to third. Upton would score on a wild pitch to cut the Yankees lead to 2-1. A popout and a flyout would end the inning. Aaron Hicks would start the top of the seventh with a walk but Anderson would retire the next three batters to keep it a one run ballgame. Rene Rivera would hit a two out infield single then a lineout would end the seventh. Jose Alvarez came in to pitch the eighth for the Angels and would throw a 1-2-3 inning. Chad Green would come in to pitch for the Yankees. Trout would lead off with a walk. After a popout and a lineout, Andrelton Simmons would single to left to move Trout to second but Green would get a strikeout to end the eighth. Cam Bedrosian would come in to pitch for the Angels for the ninth inning. Aaron Hicks would hit a two out double to right but a strikeout would end the top of the ninth with the Angels hoping to either tie the game or win it in the ninth as they trail 2-1. Aroldis Chapman came in for the save for the Yankees in the bottom of the ninth. Chris Young would draw a one out walk but Chapman would get back to back strikeouts as the Yankees completed the sweep of the Angels 2-1.
