Ravens sneak past Texans
The Houston Texans traveled to Baltimore to take on the Ravens on Monday Night Football. The Texans needed a win to keep their dim playoff hopes alive. Tom Savage would start in place of DeShaun Watson, who is out for the season with a torn ACL. The Ravens have been up and down all season but look to get their second straight win and are currently on the outside looking in but would be tied with Buffalo for the final wild card spot. Who would come out on top in this Monday night matchup? Let's get into the game! The Ravens would start with the ball and would go three and out to start the game. The Texans would get the ball and go nine plays and end with a four yard touchdown run by Lamar Miller to make it 7-0 Houston. The next four possessions would result in punts by the Texans and Ravens as the first quarter came to an end with the Texans leading 7-0. The Ravens would go on a seven play drive that would end with a ten yard touchdown run by Allen to tie the game at 7. The drive was highlighted with punter Sam Koch going to Moore for 22 yards on the fake. The Texans drive would end with a Ravens interception by Ellington. The Ravens would capitalize with a five play drive that would end with Alex Collins going in from eight yards for the score to make it 14-7 Ravens. The Texans would go 13 plays and would end with a Fairbaim 25 yard field goal to cut the Ravens lead to 14-10 then the Ravens would get the ball before halftime and would end with a Justin Tucker 53 yard field goal to make 17-10 at halftime. The Texans would start with the ball in the second half and they would go three and out. The Ravens would take over and would face a third and 3 and the pass would fall incomplete but a defensive holding call would give the Ravens a first down but that was all the Ravens could muster and would be forced to punt. The Texans would face an early third and 7 and Tom Savage would find Hopkins for nine yards. Savage would find Miller for 14 on second and 11. On another third down, Alfred Blue would go for three yards. The drive would end with a 36 yard field goal by Fairbairn to cut the lead to 17-13. The Texans and Ravens would trade three and outs. The Ravens would face a third and 8 as we headed to the fourth quarter. Collins would go 12 on third and 8. On a third and 4, Joe Flacco would find Mike Wallace for 13. The Ravens would get a 31 yard field goal by Tucker to increase the lead to 20-13. Lamar Miller would get three yards on second and 2 then Savage would go to Hopkins for a 39 yard completion to the Ravens 25 yard line. The Texans would have to settle for a 37 yarder to make it 20-16. The Texans defense would cause a Ravens three and out and would take over down four, hoping to take the lead. The Texans would face a third and 3 and Savage would find DeAndre Hopkins for six but on the next play, Savage would fumble and the Ravens would recover. The Texans would get a stop but Tucker would make a field goal to make it 23-16 and were able to get the Texans to use their timeouts. On second and 1, Savage would be picked off by Levine before the two-minute warning. On second and 11 after the two minute warning, Flacco would keep it and go for 25 yards as the Ravens sealed the game and knocked off the Houston Texans 23-16.
