Here we are, the District Playoffs, the goal that every team goes for. Now, some have higher goals but at first, the team has to make the playoffs. This article will have the game previews for the first week of the District Playoffs and the five local college football games this week. So with that being said, here are the game previews for this week.
District 2 Single A Championship
Lackawanna Trail at Old Forge
Fri 7 PM
Lackawanna Trail is in the District Final for the second straight year and are looking for back-to-back titles. The Lions however come in as heavy underdogs to top seeded Old Forge. The Blue Devils come in with a 9-1 record with their only loss coming to undefeated Dunmore last week. Lions RB Jeffrey Resto is coming in with 779 yards and 15 touchdowns. Blue Devils freshman QB Dante Lucarelli has looked nothing like a freshman this season. He's throwing for 1,036 yards and 13 touchdowns. RB Brendan Mozeleski has rushed for 1,685 yards and 22 touchdowns.

District 2 2A Playoffs
Mid Valley at Dunmore
Fri 7 PM
Mid Valley went 5-5 in the regular season and are the four seed in the District 2 2A Playoffs. Dunmore finished the regular season undefeated and are the top seed in the District playoffs and are looking for another District title. The Spartans with a two-headed running attack of Joe Chylak (1,367 yards and 18 touchdowns) and Colin Hazelton (1,117 yards and 15 touchdowns). The Bucks got here with an offense that consists of several key cogs instead of a singular workhorse. Gavin Darcy orchestrates the offense at quarterback. He's thrown for 1,040 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Prediction: Dunmore
Lakeland at Carbondale
Fri 7 PM
Lakeland went 5-5 and beat Mid Valley to get the three seed in the playoffs. Carbondale went 6-4 and is the two seed in the playoffs. The Chiefs have a very balanced offense with QB Nico Piraino (1,258 yards and 11 touchdowns), RB Giovanni Spataro (1,119 yards and 11 touchdowns) and wideout Thomas Pidgeon (52 catches for 787 yards and 10 touchdowns). Chargers RB Nick Vadella has rushed for 793 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.
Prediction: Lakeland
District 2 3A Playoffs
Meyers at Scranton Prep
Fri 7 PM
Meyers finished their regular season at 6-4. Scranton Prep finished up an undefeated regular season at 10-0. Mohawks QB Janssen Wilborn has thrown for 1,196 yards and six touchdowns. He has also rushed for 821 yards and 10 touchdowns. Cavaliers RB Matt Gilmartin has rushed for 1,213 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Prediction: Scranton Prep
Lake-Lehman at Western Wayne
Fri 7 PM
Lake-Lehman finished the regular season at 6-4 and the three seed. Western Wayne completed their season with a 7-3 mark and got the two seed. Black Knights RB Trey Borger rushed for 880 yards and 10 touchdowns. Wildcats RB Kobe Sauter rushed for 835 yards and eight touchdowns.
Prediction: Lake-Lehman
District 2 4A Playoffs
Wyoming Area at Berwick
Fri 7 PM
Wyoming Area comes in at 4-6 and the eight seed. Berwick comes in at 8-2 and the top seed in the District 2 4A Playoffs. Warriors QB Dominic DeLuca took over as the starter Week 2 for the injured PJ Angeli and has thrown for 1,257 yards and 18 touchdowns. Bulldogs QB Jared Marshman has been great since returning from injury. He's thrown for 667 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Prediction: Berwick
Pittston Area at North Pocono

Pittston Area is in the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and come in as the five seed. North Pocono is the defending District Champion and is the four seed in the playoffs. Patriots QB Walter Coles has thrown for 1,945 yards and 19 touchdowns and wideout Kevin Krawczyk had 41 catches for 783 yards and seven touchdowns. Trojans RB JC Gaughan has rushed for 846 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Prediction: North Pocono
Crestwood at Valley View
Fri 7 PM
Crestwood comes in at 5-5 and the six seed in the playoffs. Valley Views enters the postseason at 7-3 and the three seed in the playoffs. Comets RB Nick Grosek has rushed for 558 yards and seven touchdowns. Cougars RB Seth Vernon has rushed for 1,059 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Prediction: Valley View
Coughlin at Dallas

Coughlin comes in at 4-6 and the seventh seed. Dallas is 7-3 and is the two seed in the playoffs. Crusaders RB Jake Cole has rushed for 1,065 yards and eight touchdowns. Mountaineers QB Michael Starbuck has thrown for 865 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 261 yards and five touchdowns.

District 2 5A Playoffs
Abington Heights at Valley West

Abington Heights comes in at 1-9 and is the three seed. Valley West comes in at 4-6 and the two seed in the playoffs. Comets QB George Tinsley has thrown for 1,350 yards and 12 touchdowns. Spartans RB Sean Mikovitch has rushed for 1,093 yards and 11 touchdowns.

District 2/4 Subregional Semifinals
Scranton at Delaware Valley

Scranton is coming off a 6-4 season and the four seed in the Subregional playoffs. Delaware Valley is coming off an undefeated regular season and is the top seed in the Subregional. Knights RB Rheyse Green is rushing for 1,092 yards and 15 touchdowns. Warriors QB Nick Reilly has thrown for 1,285 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Hazleton Area at Williamsport

Hazleton Area comes in at 6-4 and the three seed in the Subregional. Williamsport comes in at 7-3 and the two seed in the Subregional. Cougars RB Damon Horton has rushed for 604 yards and five touchdowns. He has also caught 22 passes for 430 yards and three touchdowns. Millionaires QB Joe Fagnano has thrown for 2,302 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Bloomsburg finished their regular season with a 5-5 record. Northwest finished their season at 7-3. Panthers RB Hunter Coulter has rushed for 817 yards and 11 touchdowns. Rangers RB Jake Anderson is rushing for 986 yards and six touchdowns on the season.

Holy Redeemer at Nanticoke

Holy Redeemer ended their regular season at 2-8. Nanticoke ended their regular season at 5-5. Royals QB JD Turosky has thrown for 920 yards and five touchdowns and has rushed for 709 yards and 11 touchdowns. Trojans QB Colby Butczynski has thrown for 548 yards and eight touchdowns.

King's at Widener

King's is coming off a victory over FDU-Florham. Widener is coming off a victory over Stevenson. King's QB Zach Whitehead has been great for the Monarchs. He's throwing for 2,223 yards and 15 touchdowns and has rushed for 361 yards and 12 touchdowns. Widener QB Sean McGaughey is throwing for 1,034 yards and five touchdowns.

Stevenson at Wilkes

Stevenson is coming off a win over Widener. Wilkes is coming off a loss to Albright and is still looking for their first win of the season. Stevenson QB Dan Williams threw for 2,095 yards and 18 touchdowns. Wilkes TE Garrett Armstrong has 49 catches for 449 yards and four touchdowns on the season.

Delaware Valley at Misericordia

Delaware Valley is coming off a victory over Lebanon Valley to stay undefeated. Misericordia is coming off a loss to Lycoming. Delaware Valley RB Devauntay Ellis has rushed for 835 yards and 10 touchdowns. Cougars wideout Isaiah Williams has 50 catches for 682 yards and three touchdowns.

Bloomsburg at Shippensburg

Bloomsburg is coming off a disappointing loss to Lock Haven. Shippensburg is coming off a win over Kutztown. Huskies RB Qmac Quiteh has rushed for 851 yards and seven touchdowns. Shippensburg QB Ryan Zapoticky is a Dallas High School alum and is throwing for 2,298 yards and 20 touchdowns. He's also rushed for 266 yards and three touchdowns.

Penn State at Michigan State

Penn State is coming off a rough road loss against Ohio State. Michigan State is coming off a triple overtime loss to Northwestern. Nittany Lions wideout DaeSean Hamilton has 29 catches for 494 yards and five touchdowns. Spartans RB LJ Scott has rushed for 511 yards and four touchdowns this season.
