The defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots traveled to take on the Broncos on Sunday night. The Patriots are currently leading the AFC East at 6-2. The Broncos are looking to rebound after a blowout loss on the road in Philadelphia. Denver is currently 3-5 and in third place in the AFC West. Who would come out on top in this Sunday Night Football matchup? Let's get to it! The Patriots would start with the ball and would go three and out initially. However, the Broncos would muff the punt and the Patriots would recover and then two plays later, Tom Brady would go to Rex Burkhead for a 14 yard score to make it 7-0. The opening Denver drive would go eight plays and result in a Brandon McManus field goal to make it 7-3. On the kickoff, Dion Lewis would return the kickoff 103 yards for a touchdown and make it 14-3. The Broncos drive would go eight plays and result in a 33 yard field goal by McManus. The Patriots would end up going on a 14 play drive that would result in a 25 yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski. The Broncos would face a third and 6 on their next drive and Brock Osweiler's pass would fall incomplete but a defensive holding call would result in a first down for the Broncos. The Broncos drive would end in a punt. The punt would be blocked by the Patriots and they would get it with good field position and would result in another field goal by Gostkowski to make it 20-6. The Broncos would go on another drive but would result in McManus' third field goal of the game and a 20-9 Patriots lead. Late into the second quarter, the Patriots would go on a nine play drive that would end with Tom Brady going to Dwayne Allen for an 11 yard touchdown and a 27-9 lead as we headed to halftime. Denver would start with the ball and go on a 13 play drive that would go over 75 yards that would result in an Osweiler pass complete to Demaryius Thomas for a seven yard touchdown to make it 27-16. On the first New England possession of the second half that would go seven plays and end with an eight yard touchdown run by Dion Lewis to make it 34-16. The Broncos possession would end in a punt and then the Patriots would go on a long drive that would end the third quarter and result in a Tom Brady six yard touchdown pass to James White to make it 41-16. The Patriots would cruise to a road victory over the Denver Broncos.
