Playoff Push

As the regular season is almost over, we see a lot of interesting happens. Some teams could miss the postseason by a few points or a team could miss the top seed by 10 points. Once you hit the postseason, seeds usually do not matter too much and anybody can beat anybody. With all that being said, here are the game previews for Week number eight.

West Scranton at Honesdale
Time: Fri 7 PM

West Scranton is coming off a loss to Valley View. Honesdale is coming off a shutout loss to Scranton Prep. Invaders RB Andre Chollette has rushed for 428 yards and five touchdowns. The Hornets Garyn Barnes rushed for 420 yards and five touchdowns. Honesdale is looking to get into the District 2 Class 4A Playoffs and West Scranton is hoping to play spoiler.

Abington Heights at Wallenpaupack
Time: Fri 7 PM

Abington Heights is coming off a loss to Valley West. Wallenpaupack is coming off a one point loss to Dallas on the road. Another week, another matchup between District 2 5A teams. Wallenpaupack currently leads District 2 5A and hopes to lock the No 1 seed and a bye. Comets QB George Tinsley has thrown for 1,011 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. Joe Ingulli has rushed for 666 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Prediction: Wallenpaupack

Valley West at Berwick
Time: Fri 7 PM

Valley West is coming off a big win against Abington Heights. Berwick is coming off a shutout over Pittston Area. Usually this game has a lot of hype surrounding it but this year Valley West hasn't had the season it had hoped. The Bulldogs are as usual in the hunt for the District Title. Valley West's Darrian Tyson has 22 catches for 287 yards and two touchdowns. He has also rushed for 257 yards and three touchdowns. Bulldogs QB Jared Marshman returned last week from injury and threw for 168 yards and four total touchdowns.

Prediction: Berwick

Carbondale at Montrose
Time: Fri 7 PM

Carbondale is coming off a victory over Holy Cross. Montrose is coming off a loss to Mid Valley. Carbondale is currently second in the District 2 2A standings. The Chargers Frank Burke has rushed for 359 yards and four touchdowns. Meteors RB John Herman has rushed for 396 yards and three touchdowns. He also ha six catches for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Prediction: Carbondale

Crestwood at Hanover Area
Time: Fri 7 PM

Crestwood is coming off a win on the road over Tunkhannock. Hanover Area is coming off a loss to Northwest. The Comets are currently fifth in the District 2 4A race. They are 20 points behind Coughlin for the fourth seed. Crestwood wideout Brandon Nieminski has 14 catches for 152 yards and four touchdowns on the year. The Hawkeyes David Fedorczyk has rushed for 422 yards and four touchdowns on the season.

Prediction: Crestwood

Dallas at Wyoming Area
Time: Fri 7 PM

Dallas is coming off a close victory over Wallenpaupack. Wyoming Area is coming off a win over GAR. The Mountaineers are currently the second seed in the District 2 4A Playoffs. Wyoming Area is currently the eighth seed. A win by Wyoming Area could seal their chances at the postseason. Dallas with a win could increase their chances at two home games during the playoffs. Mountaineers sophomore RB Danny Meuser is rushing for 485 yards and eight touchdowns. Warriors Wideout Marc Minichello has 30 catches for 348 yards and five touchdowns.

Delaware Valley at Scranton
Time: Fri 7 PM

Delaware Valley is coming off a big victory over Williamsport. Scranton is coming off a road loss to Hazleton Area. The Warriors are currently undefeated and are the top seed in the District 2 6A Playoffs. Scranton is in third place in the District. Warriors RB Ryan Obiso is rushing for 731 yards and 10 touchdowns. Knights QB Robbie McAndrew has thrown for 747 yards and nine touchdowns. McAndrew also has four rushing touchdowns.

Prediction: Delaware Valley

Dunmore at Mid Valley
Time: Fri 7 PM

Dunmore stayed undefeated with a shutout of Susquehanna. Mid Valley is coming off a win over Montrose. Dunmore is currently 7-0 and currently has the top seed for the District 2 2A Playoffs. Mid Valley is currently third in the District, trailing Carbondale by 70 points. Bucks QB Gavin Darcy has thrown for 603 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also has two touchdowns. Mid Valley RB Joe Chylak has 1,031 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns.

Prediction: Dunmore

GAR at Northwest
Time: Fri 7 PM

GAR is coming off a loss to Wyoming Area. Northwest is coming off a win over Hanover Area. Northwest is currently in third place for the District 2 Single-A Championship game. Only two qualify for the District Championship game. The Rangers are 110 points behind Lackawanna Trail for the second spot. GAR QB Ronald Peguero has thrown for 244 yards and a touchdown. Rangers wideout Connor Hazlet has 18 catches for 270 yards and five touchdowns.

Prediction: Northwest

Holy Redeemer at Lake-Lehman
Time: Fri 7 PM

Holy Redeemer is coming off a loss to Athens. Lake-Lehman is coming off a win over Nanticoke. The Black Knights are currently the third seed in the District 2 3A playoffs. Royals QB JD Turosky has thrown for 635 yards and three touchdowns. He has also rushed for 337 yards and six touchdowns. Black Knights RB Matt Kurtz is rushing for 480 yards and seven touchdowns.

Prediction: Lake-Lehman

Susquehanna at Lackawanna Trail
Time: Fri 7 PM

Susquehanna is coming off a loss to Dunmore. Lackawanna Trail is coming off a loss to Old Forge. The Sabers are the fourth and final seed in the District 2 2A playoffs and are ahead by only 10 points of Lakeland. Lackawanna Trail is in the second spot in the District 2 Single-A playoffs and are ahead by 110 points of Northwest. Sabers RB Sam Cosmello has rushed for 400 yards and eight touchdowns. Lions wideout Noah Coleman has eight catches for 246 yards and four touchdowns.

Tunkhannock at Meyers
Time: Fri 7 PM

Tunkhannock is coming off a loss to Crestwood. Meyers is coming off a loss to Coughlin. The Mohawks are currently in the last playoff spot in the District 2 3A playoffs. Tigers RB Logan Cywinski is rushing for 971 yards and 12 touchdowns. Mohawks Wideout Najese Hood has 14 catches for 348 yards and four touchdowns.

North Pocono at Valley View
Time: Fri 7 PM

North Pocono is coming off a win over Western Wayne. Valley View is coming off a victory over West Scranton. North Pocono is currently in third in the District 2 4A standings. Valley View is currently the sixth seed in the District 2 4A Standings. Trojans QB Donny Blaine is throwing for 918 yards and nine touchdowns. Cougars RB Seth Vernon is rushing for 735 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Scranton Prep at Western Wayne
Time: Fri 7 PM

Scranton Prep is coming off a victory over Honesdale. Western Wayne is coming off their first loss of the season against North Pocono. The Cavaliers are undefeated and currently lead District 2 3A. Western Wayne is currently second in District 2 3A. Cavaliers RB Matt Gilmartin has rushed for 979 yards and 16 touchdowns. Western Wayne RB Kobe Sauter has rushed for 672 yards and six touchdowns.

Donegal at Hazleton Area

Donegal is coming off a loss to Northern Lebanon. Hazleton Area is coming off a win over Scranton. Hazleton Area is currently the fourth seed in the District 2 6A Playoffs. Donegal's Nick Ketner has rushed for 584 yards and eight touchdowns. Cougars QB Sparky Wolk has thrown for 1,404 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Nanticoke at Pittston Area
Time: Fri 7 PM

Nanticoke is coming off a loss to Lake-Lehman. Pittston Area is coming off a loss to Berwick. Nanticoke is currently out of the District playoffs. They are 100 points behind Meyers. Pittston Area is currently the seventh seed. Nanticoke RB Dawson Hughes has rushed for 467 yards and three touchdowns. Patriots QB Walter Coles has thrown for 1,279 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Riverside at Holy Cross

Riverside is coming off a loss against Lakeland. Holy Cross is coming off a loss to Carbondale. Riverside QB Brayden Thiel has thrown for 631 yards and five touchdowns. Holy Cross RB Jason Kopf has rushed for 308 yards.

Williamsport at Coughlin

Williamsport is coming off a loss to Delaware Valley. Coughlin is coming off a win over Meyers. Williamsport is currently the second seed in the District 2/4 6A Subregional. Coughlin is currently the fourth seed in the District 2 4A playoffs. Millionaires QB Joe Fagnano is throwing for 1,552 yards and 18 touchdowns. Old Forge at Lakeland

Old Forge stayed undefeated with a victory over Lackawanna Trail. Lakeland is coming off a victory over Riverside. The Blue Devils are currently the top seed for the District 2 Single-A title game. Lakeland is currently on the outside looking in and are 10 points back of Susquehanna. Blue Devils RB Brendan Mozeleski is rushing for 1,196 yards and 17 touchdowns. Lakeland wide receiver Thomas Pidgeon has 42 catches for 671 yards and seven touchdowns.

King's at Delaware Valley
