The Washington Redskins are coming off a big win over the Oakland Raiders at home went on the road to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs come in with a perfect 3-0 record and looking to go to 4-0 and remain as the only undefeated team in the NFL. Who would come out on top in this Monday night football? Let's get to it. The Redskins would face a third and 1 and Rob Kelley would go for 12 yards then on second and 7, Kirk Cousins would go to Josh Doctson for seven yards. Cousins would go to Terrelle Pryor for a 44 yard touchdown pass. The PAT would make it 7-0 with 11:52 remaining in the first quarter. The Redskins defense would force a Chiefs three and out to get the ball back. Washington would face a third and 7 and Cousins would find Pryor for 10 yards. They would go and face a fourth and 1 and Cousins would go for five yards and another first down. They faced another third down, this time from seven yards away and Cousins went to Jordan Reed for 14. The Chiefs would hold them to a field goal and they would make the field goal to make it 10-0 with 2:50 remaining in the first quarter. The Chiefs would face a third and 14 and Alex Smith would find Travis Kelce for 32 yards and then find Tyreke Hill for 10 on the next play. The first quarter would end with the Redskins leading 10-0. Smith would run for 11 on the first play of the second quarter. A sack by Smith would take the Chiefs out of field goal range and be forced to punt. Cousins would find Vernon Davis for 20 yards on the first play but they wouldn't get another first down and be forced to punt. Kareem Hunt would go for 12 yards on the Chiefs first play of the drive. Smith would find Kelce for 11 for another first down. The Chiefs would face a third and 4 and an illegal contact penalty on Washington gives Kansas City a first down. However, the Chiefs wouldn't move the chains any longer and would punt the ball back to Washington. The Chiefs defense would get a three and out. The Chiefs first play of the drive would be a Smith to Wilson for 12 yards. The Chiefs would face a third and 3 and Smith would find C West for a nine yard completion and a first down. Smith would go to Conley would 21 and on the next play, Smith would find Kelce for a 17 yard touchdown pass. The PAT would cut the Redskins lead to 10-7. Cousins would find Grant for 13 yards on the first play but they would be forced to punt as they couldn't move the chains. The Chiefs would drive down the field and go for a 46 yard field goal attempt and Butker's kick would go wide right and the Redskins would lead 10-7 at halftime. The Chiefs would start with the ball and march down the field and would result in a one yard touchdown run by Alex Smith. The Redskins next drive would go three plays and end in a three yard touchdown pass from Cousins to Ryan Grant. The Chiefs next drive would be a nice long drive and would result in a field goal to tie the game at 17. The quarter would come to an end with the game tied at 17. The Redskins drive would end in a punt. The Chiefs would go for another long drive and end in a 32 yard field goal by Harrison Butker to give the Chiefs a 20-17 lead. The Redskins would drive down to Chiefs 30 yard line as they headed to the two minute warning. The Redskins would go for a Field goal and make from 40 yards out by Dustin Hopkins to tie the game at 20. Smith would find Wilson for 37 to the Washington 34. Butker would go for a 43 yard field goal and would make it to give the Chiefs a 23-20 lead with four seconds left. They would go for the laterals and would be recovered by the Chiefs and returned for a touchdown as the Chiefs stayed unbeaten with a 29-20 victory over the Washington Redskins.
Thoughts on the game: Both teams played well tonight. Alex Smith threw for 293 yards and a touchdown for the Chiefs. He also had a rushing touchdown. Kirk Cousins threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns for Washington. Kareem Hunt had a good game on the ground for the Chiefs. He rushed for 101 yards. The Chiefs could be interesting down the stretch as they are the only undefeated team in the NFL. They definitely look like the best team in the AFC West.
