Cessa would a 1-2-3 second inning for the Railriders. Clint Frazier drew a leadoff walk and Donovan Solano would single to center to move Frazier to third but a strikeout and a double play would end the inning. Cessa would a second consecutive 1-2-3 inning for the Railriders. Tyler Wade would draw a one out walk but a flyout and a caught stealing would keep the game scoreless after 3. Cessa threw his third straight 1-2-3 inning in the fourth for the Railriders. Gleyber Torres drew a leadoff walk but a double play and a strikeout ended the fourth and keep it a scoreless game. Cessa continued his streak with another 1-2-3 inning. VerHagen threw a 1-2-3 fifth inning to keep it a scoreless game. Steven Moya led off with a homer to right for a 1-0 Mud Hens lead. Bryan Holaday followed with a single to left but a double play and a strikeout ended the top of the sixth. VerHagen threw a second consecutive 1-2-3 inning to keep the one run lead. Omar Infante led off with a single to center. After a popout and a strikeout, Jason Krizan hit a double to right to score Infante for a 2-0 Mud Hens lead. A flyout would end the Top of the seventh. VerHagen threw his third straight 1-2-3 inning to make it a two run lead. Cessa once again threw a 1-2-3 inning for the Railriders. Logan Kensing came in to pitch the eighth for the Mud Hens. Cito Culver drew a two out walk but a groundout would end the eighth. Tyler Jones came in to pitch for the Railriders in the ninth and throw a 1-2-3 inning to give the Railriders a chance at a comeback. Edward Mujica came in to get the save for the Mud Hens. Tyler Wade would hit a leadoff single to start off the bottom of the ninth but Mujica struck out the side to preserve the shutout as the Mud Hens beat the Railriders 2-0.

Thoughts on the game: Drew VerHagen had a dominant performance for the Mud Hens. He went seven innings, gave up one hit, struck out eight and the bullpen did great to preserve the shutout and the lead. Luis Cessa pitched great as well, going eight innings, striking out seven and was the tough luck loser in the game.

News: Ernesto Frieri for now is still a Railrider. He will have a few days to decide what he will do.
