The Railriders and the Pawtucket Red Sox started up their four game series at PNC Field on Thursday night. Kyle Kendrick got the start for the Red Sox. The Railriders sent Chance Adams to the mound. Steve Selsky drew a two out walk but a groundout ended the top of the first. Dustin Fowler hit a one out double to right. Fowler would steal third on the next batter. A lineout and a strikeout would end the inning scoreless. Adams would throw a 1-2-3 second for the Railriders. Jake Cave hit a solo shot to right with one out for a 1-0 lead. Mark Payton hit a single to left then Cito Culver followed with a double that got Payton to third. Eddy Rodriguez hit a single that scored Payton for a 2-0 lead. Tyler Wade would be hit by a pitch to load the bases. After a strikeout, Tyler Austin would hit a double to clear the bases for a 5-0 Railriders advantage. Ji-Man Choi hit a two run home run to right to increase it to 7-0. Andujar followed with a single but a flyout would end the inning. Adams would throw another 1-2-3 inning in the third for the Railriders. Kendrick got a 1-2-3 inning as well for the Red Sox in the third. For the third straight inning, Adams threw a 1-2-3 inning for the Railriders. Tyler Austin hit a home run to right with two outs and an 8-0 lead. A groundout would end the inning. Brian Bogusevic drew a leadoff walk but Adams would retire the next three batters to keep the Red Sox off the board. Mark Payton hit a single to right then Cito Culver would hit a two run home run to make it 10-0 Railriders. A flyout would end the inning. Dan Butler would hit a double for the Red Sox first hit of the game. Adams would retire the side to end the Top half of the sixth. Kyle Martin would come in to pitch for the Red Sox in the sixth and would throw a 1-2-3 inning. Ben Heller came in to pitch the seventh for the Railriders. Bogusevic got the Red Sox on the board with a home run to right with one out. After a flyout, Jantzen Witte hit a single but a strikeout would end the Top half of the seventh. Jake Cave hit a two out single then Payton hit a double to score Cave for an 11-1 lead. Culver drew a walk but a forceout would end the inning. Dan Butler drew a walk then Mike Miller hit a single. After a strikeout, the Railriders would go to JR Graham in relief and would get a strikeout and a flyout would end the Top of the eighth. Tyler Wade drew a walk but an unassisted double play and a strikeout would end the inning. Graham would throw a 1-2-3 ninth as the Railriders took down the Red Sox 11-1.
