The Syracuse Chiefs and the SWB Railriders finished up their series at PNC Field on Thursday night. Sean O'Sullivan got the start for Syracuse. The Railriders started Domingo Acevedo. Andrew Stevenson hit a one out single to center. After a strikeout, Clint Robinson hit a single to score Stevenson for a 1-0 Syracuse lead. A flyout would end the top of the first. O'Sullivan would throw a 1-2-3 first for the Chiefs. Adrian Sanchez would hit a leadoff single. A pickoff by Acevedo would get the Railriders the first out. Spencer Kieboom drew a walk but a popout and a groundout would end the Top half of the second. Miguel Andujar hit a two out single to right but a groundout would end the second. Wilmer Difo drew a leadoff walk, would advance to second on a balk. Stevenson would hit a single that would get Difo to third. Difo would score on a Brandon Snyder sacrifice fly to right for a 2-0 Syracuse lead. A strikeout and a flyout would end the third. Donovan Solano would draw a leadoff walk. After a strikeout, Jake Cave would hit a single to right. Cave would be forced out at second on a Dustin Fowler grounder. A groundout would end the third. Sanchez hit a double to center to lead off the fourth. After a strikeout and a groundout, Emanuel Burriss hit a single to center to score Sanchez for a 3-0 lead. Difo would draw a walk, then Stevenson would single home Burriss for a 4-0 advantage. A flyout would end the inning. Andujar drew a two out walk but a flyout would end the inning. Acevedo would throw a 1-2-3 fourth inning for the Railriders. O'Sullivan would answer with a 1-2-3 inning for the Chiefs. Kieboom hit a leadoff double to right. After a groundout, Burriss would hit a single to center to score Kieboom to make it 5-0 Chiefs. JP Feyereisen came in to pitch for the Railriders. A caught stealing and a groundout would end the inning. Dustin Fowler hit a leadoff single to center then Tyler Austin hit a two run home run to left to cut the Chiefs lead to 5-2. O'Sullivan would retire the next three batters to end the sixth. Stevenson reached on an error but Feyereisen would retire the next three to get to the bottom of the seventh. Sammy Solis came in to pitch the seventh for the Chiefs and would throw a 1-2-3 inning. Feyereisen threw a 1-2-3 eighth for the Railriders. Wander Suero came in to pitch the eighth for Syracuse. Dustin Fowler hit a single to right but a strikeout and a groundout would end the Top half of the eighth. Tommy Layne came in to pitch the ninth for the Railriders and throw a 1-2-3 inning. Andujar hit a one out single then was forced out at second on an Eddy Rodriguez grounder and would go to second on a throwing error. A flyout would end the game as the Chiefs salvaged the series as they took the final game of the series 5-2 over the Railriders.
Thoughts on the game: Tyler Austin might get a shot with the Yankees very soon if not this weekend. He's been hitting very well for the Railriders. Miguel Andujar had a very good game, recording two hits. Andrew Stevenson for Syracuse had a great series including a three hit game tonight.
News: Tyler Wade just got a day off today after playing almost every day in many different positions.
