Hall's shot gives Wolfpack road victory over Crestwood

The Wilkes-Barre Area Wolfpack traveled to Mountain Top on Tuesday night to take on the Crestwood Comets. The Comets are coming off a victory on Friday night over Wyoming Valley West. The Wolfpack are coming off a victory over Dallas. Crestwood is currently a game out of first place in Division 1 of the Wyoming Valley Conference. Wilkes-Barre Area is currently 2 games out of first. Each team has three games left with all three being this week.
It would start off as a back and forth, with Crestwood taking the lead and the Wolfpack tying the game up. The Wolfpack would take the lead on a Brandon Hall basket at 6-4 but a Marcus Vieney three pointer and a free throw and triple by Mike Zaleski would give the Comets an 11-6 lead. However, Blake Masker would score five straight points to tie the game at 11 but Paul Feisel would give the Comets a 13-11 lead with a bucket to end the first quarter. Wilkes-Barre Area would go on a 7-0 run to start the second quarter to lead 18-13. Crestwood would then go on a 7-2 run to tie the game at 20. Hall would give the Wolfpack the lead again with a basket but threes by Jake Zaleski and Vieney would give the Comets a 26-22 lead and would lead 28-25 at halftime.
The Comets would increase their lead to 6 on a three pointer by Petrosky but the Wolfpack would cut it to 3 with a free throw by Blake Masker and a basket by Jordan Diggs. Wilkes-Barre Area would tie the game at 35 with a 5-0 run. Petrosky would hit a three point play to give Crestwood the lead back. The Comets would lead 43-39 going to the fourth quarter. A pair of free throws by Brad Papura would give Crestwood a six point lead. Saquan Portee would score seven straight points to give the Wolfpack their first lead of the second half at 46-45. Jake Zaleski would hit a three pointer to make it 48-46. Hall would tie the game on a basket. Crestwood would run the clock down for the final shot but Hall would steal the ball and launch a halfcourt shot and it would fall in as the Wolfpack would take a 51-48 victory over Crestwood. With Dallas's victory over Hazleton Area tonight, Wilkes-Barre Area and Crestwood are a game back of first place.

Thoughts on the game: That was an amazing shot by Hall at the buzzer. He finished with 12 points. Blake Masker had a great game with 14 points and Saquan Portee had 10. For Crestwood, Jake Zaleski and Marcus Vieney each had 12 points and Ryan Petrosky added 10. It's going to be a really interesting day on Thursday with Wilkes-Barre Area playing host to Hazleton Area and Crestwood hosting Pittston Area.
