Crestwood advances to Division Championship

The Crestwood Comets and Dallas Mountaineers traveled to Nanticoke for their WVC Division 1 semifinal matchup. The winner would advance to the WVC Division 1 Championship and get a spot in the WVC Playoffs. The Comets and Mountaineers split the season series. Each team winning on the road. The Comets defeated Hazleton Area on Saturday. Dallas defeated Valley West on Saturday afternoon.
With the game tied at 2, the Comets would go on a 10-0 run to make it 12-2 and would race to a 19-8 lead at the end of the first. The Comets would build their lead up to 20 with back-to-back three pointers by Marcus Vieney and then a three by Jake Zaleski. The Comets would lead 44-19 at halftime. The Comets would score 25 points in the third quarter to take a 69-37 lead at the end of the third and would cruise in the fourth to take the victory 82-54 over Dallas. Bryce Wyda would score Crestwood's 80th point on a jumper. Crestwood will take on Wilkes-Barre Area on Wednesday at a site to be determined. The Wolfpack took a 44-39 victory over Pittston Area at Wyoming Area.

Thoughts on the game: Crestwood had an impressive night shooting. They hit 14 3 pointers on the night. Ryan Petrosky had 19 points to lead all scorers. Marcus Vieney added 17, Jake Zaleski had 14 and Paul Feisel had 12. For Dallas, Jack Farrell had 12 points, Dylan Schuster had 11 and Nick Nocito had 10.
