Crestwood dominant in win over Pittston Area

The Pittston Area Patriots traveled to Mountain Top on Thursday night to take on the Crestwood Comets. The Comets honored their four seniors on Senior night. The Comets are currently a game out of first place behind Hazleton Area and Pittston Area. The Patriots are tied for the division lead with Hazleton Area. With 2 games left, it could a very interesting fight to the finish.
The Comets would race to an 18-3 lead, highlighted by three straight three pointers. First was Ryan Petrosky and back to back by Paul Feisel. The Comets would lead 24-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Comets would take a 41-16 lead at halftime. The Comets would cruise in the second half but the highlight of the night was when Crestwood senior Bryce Wyda would enter the game in the fourth. He would start by sinking two foul shots, then hitting a jumper, then making a three pointer. He finished with seven points on the night. The Comets would take an 80-44 victory over Pittston Area. There is currently a five way tie for first place at 9-4 with a game left in WVC play. Wilkes-Barre Area defeated Hazleton Area 60-46 and Dallas defeated Nanticoke 63-53. Divisional play ends on Saturday with Crestwood traveling to Hazleton Area, Pittston Area going to Nanticoke, Dallas going to Valley West, and Wilkes-Barre Area going to Berwick. At the end of Saturday's games, there can be a four way tie for first place to end the season. With the loser of Hazleton Area/Crestwood being out and the other three winning their matchups.

Thoughts on the game: Crestwood played an amazing game tonight on both sides of the floor. Ryan Petrosky had a great game with 28 points, Paul Feisel added 14 and Marcus Vieney had 12. For the Patriots, Andrew Krawczyk, Mike George, and Brennan Higgins each scored seven points. It's gonna be a very interesting end to the regular season in WVC Division 1.
