The Philadelphia Eagles traveled to the Meadowlands to take on the New York Giants. The Eagles are coming off a tough loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants are coming off a tough loss to the Panthers. Who would come out on top in this NFC East rivalry game? Let's get to it!
The Giants would get the ball but two plays into the drive, Eli Manning's pass would be intercepted by Grugier-Hill and the Eagles would go three plays as Carson Wentz would go to Alshon Jeffrey for a 13 yard touchdown for a 7-0 Philadelphia lead. The Giants would go on a seven play drive that would result in a 33 yard field goal by Aldrick Rosas to make it 7-3. The Eagles and Giants would trade punts but the Eagles would get the ball late in the first quarter and they would go on a six play drive that would end with Corey Clement going in for a one yard score and a 14-3 Eagles lead. The second quarter would remain the same until late in the second quarter when the Giants went on a nine play drive that ended with a Rosas 21 yard field goal and a 14-6 Eagles lead. The Eagles would get the ball and would face a third and 3 and Wentz would find Nelson Agholor for 58 yards to the Giants 10 yard line. On the next play, Wentz would find Zach Ertz for the 10 yard score and a 21-6 Eagles lead. After a three and out by the Giants, the Eagles would go on a six play drive that would result in a 33 yard field goal by Jake Elliott for a 24-6 lead. Both teams' next series would end in missed field goals as we headed to halftime with the Eagles leading 24-6.
The Eagles would go on a long 12 play drive that would end with Wentz would find Jeffrey for a one yard score and their second touchdown of the night for a 31-6 lead. The Giants would go on a five play drive that would end with a Saquon Barkley 50 yard touchdown run. Barkley had 130 yards on the ground and had nine catches for 99 yards on the night. The Eagles would add a field goal on their next possession as the Eagles would cruise the rest of the way for a 34-13 victory over the New York Giants. Eagles QB Carson Wentz threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns on the night.
