Getting on track

This past week, some of the teams came out and took their first win of the season. Some of them beat quality opponents and others beat on a winless team to get their first win. With the expansion of the classes, teams at 0-2 can still rebound and qualify for the postseason. Some teams solidified their position after a 2-0 start and stayed undefeated. With that being said, here's what happened this past week.

Nanticoke 45 GAR 6
Eric Jeffries ran for 247 yards and four touchdoowns for the Trojans. Dawson Hughes added 100 yards for Nanticoke. Nanticoke goes to 3-0 on the year with a big matchup with Meyers next week. The Grenadiers Anthony Blake had 63 yards and a touchdown in the loss. GAR falls to 0-3 on the year.

Williamsport 28 Hazleton Area 26
Joe Fagnano threw for 276 yards and two touchdowns, he also ran in for a score for the Millionaires. Blaze McClements ran for 117 yards and a touchdown for Williamsport. Sparky Wolk threw for 210 yards and four touchdowns. He threw two of those touchdowns to David Smith and they were the only two catches he had and they combined for 88 yards.

Berwick 17 Wyoming Area 14
Berwick rallied in the fourth quarter to take the victory on the road against Wyoming Area. Damon Beckhorn ran for 62 yards and the game-winning score and Teagan Wilk had a punt return touchdown. Evan Klinger add 136 yards on the ground for the Bulldogs. Dominic Deluca threw for 50 yards and caught a touchdown pass. Justin Joseph added a touchdown for the Warriors.

Dallas 38  Pittston Area 7
David Schuster had 75 yards on the ground and a touchdown for the Mountaineers. The Mountaineers combined for four rushing touchdowns. Walter Coles threw for 176 yards and a touchdown for Pittston Area Kevin Krawzcyk added 5 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Meyers 21 Hanover Area 12
Janssen Wilborn ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns and he also threw for 103 yards. Reese Patronick had five catches for 54 yards for the Mohawks. The Hawkeyes Josh Jopling had 99 yards and a touchdown and Aaron Hummer had 73 yards in the air.

Carbondale 26 Mid Valley 13
Carbondale's Nick Vadella had 175 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the victory over Mid Valley. QB Jordan Tolerico threw for 51 yards. Mid Valley QB Zach Cianfione threw for 91 yards and Joe Chylak ran for 62 yards.

Dunmore 41 Lakeland 7
The Bucks Bill Donvito ran for 97 yards and three touchdowns and Gavin Darcy threw for 97 yards and a touchdown in the blowout victory over Lakeland. Chiefs QB Nico Piraino threw for 59 yards and had a rushing touchdown and Jake Barrett ran for 55 yards.

Scranton Prep 42 Lake-Lehman 0
The Cavaliers continued their dominance with a shutout of the Black Knights on the road. Scranton Prep's Matt Gilmartin ran for 154 yards and four touchdowns. QB Leo O'Boyle threw for 113 yards in the victory. Lake-Lehman's Trey Borger rushed for 64 yards and Matt Kurtz added 25 yards on the ground.

Western Wayne 35 Northwest 7
Western Wayne Kobe Sauter ran for 178 yards and three touchdowns in a convincing victory over Northwest. Danny Boots added 74 yards and a touchdown  on the ground. Rangers QB David Piestrak threw for 73 yards and Jake Anderson added 38 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

Honesdale 43 Tunkhannock 31
The Hornets took a high-scoring affair at Tunkhannock. Honesdale's Andy Carroll had a monster game, rushing for 256 yards and two touchdowns and Garyn Barnes ran for 106 yards and two touchdowns. The Tigers Logan Cywinski continued his torrent pace with 129 yards and two touchdowns. Garrett Hopkins had six catches for 95 yards and a touchdown for Tunkhannock. Cywinski has rushed for 527 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.

Delaware Valley 35 Valley West 25
The Warriors rallied for 21 points in the fourth quarter to take a road victory at Valley West. Del Val QB Nick Reilly threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns and Ryan Obiso added 60 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Spartans QB Jake Shusta threw for 166 and a touchdown and Zach Davies ran in for a touchdown.

Scranton 28 Valley View 21
The Knights took a close victory at Valley View. Rheyse Green ran for 121 yards and two touchdown and caught a 65 yard touchdown pass for Scranton. Ky'Ron Harbin added 81 yards on the ground. Cougars QB Chandler Fuller threw for 110 yards and two touchdowns and added 92 yards rushing and a touchdown. Traon Jones ran for 57 yards for Valley View.

North Pocono 34 Wallenpaupack 17
North Pocono stayed undefeated with a victory over Wallenpaupack. Trojans QB Donny Blaine threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns and Danny Walsh caught five passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns. The Buckhorns Joe Ingulli ran for 56 yards and a touchdown and QB Tom McCormick threw for 75 yards.

Susquehanna 19 Riverside 18
The Sabers Sam Cosmello ran for 113 yards and a touchdown and Adam Roe added 108 yards in the victory over Riverside. Vikings QB Brayden Thiel threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns and added 30 yards and a touchdown. Noah Zippitelli caught seven passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

Old Forge 48 Montrose 0
Old Forge freshman QB Dante Lucarelli threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Brendan Mozeleski ran for 153 yards and three touchdowns in the blowout of Montrose. Montrose's John Herman ran for 23 yards on the ground and Tyler Dolvin added 31 yards rushing.

Lackawanna Trail 55 Holy Cross 0
Trail QB Nathan Rolka threw for 96 yards and two touchdowns and Jeffrey Resto ran for 57 yards and two touchdowns in the victory over Holy Cross. Holy Cross's Jason Kopf ran for 17 yards and added a catch for eight yards.

Abington Heights 21 West Scranton 7
Kaleb Sherman ran for 109 yards and a touchdown to give the Comets their first win of the season. George Tinsley threw for 70 yards and a touchdown for Abington Heights. The Invaders' running back Kevin Williams ran for 236 yards and a touchdown and Shayne Merrifield caught four passes for 22 yards.

Mahanoy Area 42 Holy Redeemer 0
Mahanoy Area blew out the Royals for their first win of the season. The Bears were up 35-0 at halftime. JD Turosky threw for 18 yards and rushed for seven yards for the Royals.

Stevenson 38 King's 9
Stevenson QB Williams threw for 247 yards and four touchdowns. Crawley-Lambert rushed for 94 for Stevenson. Monarchs QB Zach Whitehead threw for 212 yards and a touchdown. Kings wideout Marquis Miller caught 11 passes for 68 yards.

Lebanon Valley 36 Wilkes 0
Lebanon Valley pitched a road shutout victory over Wilkes on Saturday afternoon. Tyler Sterner threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns. De La Cruz caught two passes for 65 yards and two toucchdowns. Wilkes QB Wade Rippeon threw for 89 yards.

Albright 50 Misericordia 17
Albright QB Alec Vignola threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns. Wideout Malik Jackson caught six passes for 113 yards and a touchdown. Misericordia's Brady Williams threw for 171 yards and a touchdown.

Bloomsburg 29 Clarion 20
Huskies QB Chris Palubinsky threw for 174 yards and a touchdown. He also ran in for two touchdowns. Qmac Quiteh rushed for 118 yards. Asiantii Woulard threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns for Clarion.
