Georgia gets revenge over Auburn to win SEC Championship

The Georgia Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers traveled to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia for the SEC Championship. Both teams played earlier this month and Auburn came out on top. Georgia is hoping for better results in this matchup. The winner will not only win the SEC Championship but will punch their ticket to the College Football Playoff in all likelihood. Who would come out on top in this matchup between  the top two SEC teams and get into the college football playoff? Let's go into the game! The Tigers would start with the ball and they would start with a ten play drive that would end with Jarrett Stidham going to Nate Craig-Myers for a six yard touchdown pass for a 7-0 Tigers lead. The Bulldogs first play would be a 13 yard run by Nick Chubb. They would face a third and 10 and Jake Fromm would go to Mecole Hardman for a 15 yard pass but that would be all the Bulldogs would get and punt the football away. The Tigers would go three and out and then the Bulldogs would go three and out. The Tigers would face a third and 3 as the first quarter came to an end. Kerryon Johnson would go three yards on third and 3, then would face a third and 6 and Georgia would force a fumble and the Bulldogs' Geo Roquan Smith would recover and leave Auburn with no points as they were in field goal range. The Bulldogs would be able to capitalize as they went seven plays as Jake Fromm went to Isaac Nauta for a two yard score to tie the game at 7. The Georgia defense would answer with a three and out. The Tigers would go eight plays and end with a 27 yard field goal by Rodrigo Blakenship. The next Tigers possession would end in a punt and the Bulldogs would run out the clock as we headed to halftime with Georgia leading by three. Georgia would start with the ball in the second half and the drive would end with a punt. The Tigers would have an early third and 6 and Stidham would find Ryan Davis for 29 to the Bulldogs 47. On the next play, Kerryon Johnson would go for 15 yards then Stidham would go to Davis again for 13. The Tigers would have to settle for a 31 yard field goal and kick would be blocked by Daquan Hawkins-Muckle and returned by Dominick Sanders to their own 28 yard line. The Bulldogs couldn't capitalize as they would go three and out. The next Tigers' possession would end in a punt. On the first play of the Bulldogs drive and Jake Fromm would find Terry Godwin for 31 yards to the Tigers 49 yard line. On a second and 5, Nick Chubb would go for 20 yards to the Tigers 24 yard line. The Bulldogs would settle for a 35 yard field goal to make it 13-7. The Tigers would face a third and 1 and Johnson would go for four and Stidham would go for 12 yards for a first down as the third quarter came to an end. On the first play of the quarter, Georgia's Lorenzo Carter would force a fumble and would be recovered by Geo Roquan Smith to the Auburn 39 yard line. Jake Fromm would go for 17 yards on the first play of the drive then on the next play, it would be a four yard run but a personal foul penalty would make it first and goal at the eight yard line. On second and goal, Fromm would find Godwin for a seven yard score and the two point conversion would make it 21-7. The Tigers would go three and out on the next series then on a second and 4 for Georgia, D'Andre Swift would get five yards and then on the next play, Swift would go 64 yards for the score to make it 28-7 and the Georgia defense would keep them out of the end zone as the Bulldogs would win the SEC Championship and hopefully a spot in the College Football Playoff with a win over Auburn.

High School State Playoffs AA State Semifinals
Southern Columbia 56 Dunmore 19
Tigers' RB Gaige Garcia rushed for 226 yard and four touchdowns and wideout Julian Fleming had five catches for 104 yards and a touchdown as Southern Columbia blew out Dunmore to advance to the State Championship game. Bucks RB Frank Damiano rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown. Great season by Dunmore overall. They stayed undefeated throughout the season until this point.

College Football Conference Championships
Pac-12 Championship
USC 31 Stanford 28
Trojans QB Sam Darnold threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns and RB Ronald Jones rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns as USC took the Pac-12 Championship as they beat Stanford. Cardinal QB KJ Costello threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns and RB Bryce Love rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown.

American Athletic Conference Championship
UCF 62 Memphis 55 (2OT)
Knights QB McKenzie Milton threw for 494 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for another and RB Otis Anderson rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown as UCF won the American Athletic Conference Championship as they beat Memphis in double overtime. Tigers QB Riley Ferguson threw for 471 yards and four touchdowns and RB Darrell Henderson rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Conference USA Championship
FAU 41 North Texas 17
FAU QB Jason Driskel threw for 269 yards and a touchdown and RB Devin Singletary rushed for 164 yards as FAU took the Conference USA title with a victory over North Texas. North Texas QB Mason Fine threw for 356 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

MAC Championship
Toledo 45 Akron 28
Toledo QB Logan Woodside threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns and RB Terry Swanson rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns as Toledo took the MAC Championship with a win over Akron QB Kato Nelson threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns and two touchdowns and RB Manny Morgan rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Big 12 Championship
Oklahoma 41 TCU 17
Sooners QB Baker Mayfield threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns and Rodney Anderson rushed for 93 yards as Oklahoma took the Big 12 Championship and sealed a spot into the College Football Playoff with a blowout victory over TCU. Horned Frogs QB Kenny Hill threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 51 yards in the loss.

Mountain West Championship
Boise State 17 Fresno State 14
Broncos RB Ryan Wolpin and Alexander Mattison each rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown as Boise State took the Mountain West Title as they knocked off Fresno State. Bulldogs QB Marcus McMaryion threw for 172 yards and rushed for two touchdowns.

ACC Championship
Clemson 38 Miami 3
Tigers QB Kelly Bryant threw for 252 yards and a touchdown and added a rushing touchdown and got the benefit of three other rushing touchdowns from their running backs as Clemson sealed up the number 1 seed in the college football playoff by blowing out Miami and winning the ACC Championship. Hurricanes QB Malik Rosier threw for 110 yards.

Big Ten Championship
Ohio State 27 Wisconsin 21
Buckeyes QB JT Barrett threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns and ran another in and JK Dobbins rushed for 174 yards as Ohio State took the Big Ten title by knocking off undefeated Wisconsin. We will see Sunday at noon if Ohio State will be in the playoff or not. Badgers QB Alex Hornibrook threw for 229 yards in the loss.
