The Nanticoke Trojans played host to the Hanover Area Hawkeyes on Friday night. The Trojans and Hawkeyes faced off in the District 2 4A Quarterfinals last year with Nanticoke taking the victory. Nanticoke is coming off a victory on Thursday night over Wyoming Area. Hanover Area is coming off a loss last Friday night to North Pocono. Both students sections were anticipating this rivalry matchup leading up to tipoff.
The Trojans would start with the game's first five points off of Collin Brown. Then Auggie George and Khairi Carson would give the Hawkeyes a quick 6-5 lead. A three pointer by Collin Brown and a three point play by Colby Butczynski would give the Trojans the lead and would lead 17-12 at the end of the first quarter. The Trojans would increase their lead to seven but the Hawkeyes would go on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 26 but a basket by JJ Bielecki and a free throw by Colby Butczynski would give the Trojans a 29-26 lead at halftime.
Auggie George would cut the Trojans lead to 1 but Collin Brown would make it a three point game again but Mike Merth would hit a three to tie the game at 31, after Butczynski would hit a basket, the Hawkeyes would go on a 10-0 run to give them an eight point lead. A Butczynski basket would end the run but a three pointer by Carson and a basket by Asad Whitehead would increase the lead to 11. After a pair of free throws by Sincere Shiloh, Todd Kolbecka would hit a three at the buzzer for a 49-37 at the end of three. The Hawkeyes would cruise to a 67-54 victory at Nanticoke.

For the Trojans, Colby Butczynski had a good game with 25 points and Collin Brown had a good game with 15.
