The Crestwood Comets traveled to Wilkes-Barre to take on the Holy Redeemer Royals. The Comets came in looking for their third straight victory. The Royals came in looking to get back on track after a loss on Monday at Abington Heights.
The Comets took a 7-0 lead 1:34 into the game, but the Royals would go on a 16-5 run, making 4 3 pointers in that span and would lead 16-12 after 1. Joey Judge would propel the Royals with 8 points in the first half and take the lead at halftime 33-25. The third quarter would the closest the Comets would get. The Comets out scored the Royals 9-5 and cut the lead to four after three. Holy Redeemer would hold on to win 50-43. The Royals James Kosik lead all scorers with 12 points. John Carr scored 10 points for the Royals. The Comets scoring was lead by Robbie Hopkins 11 points, followed by Jason Klusewitz and Josh Malkemes scoring 10.
Thoughts on the game: Holy Redeemer looked very good shooting from the floor. Believe they can contend for the WVC Division 3 title, even with a bad shooting night, they can always go inside with 6'7 John Carr or a few dribble drives from their guards. Crestwood's great start fizzled very quickly and played the rest of the game playing catch up. The closest they were to the lead with at the end of the third when they cut the lead to 4.
