AA District 2 Baseball Semifinal Mid Valley at Hanover Area

The Hanover Area have not given up a run this postseason and that streak continued today. Kyle Kowalski started the game retiring the first 13 batters til a bunt single by Ethan Hasenzahl ended it. Kowalski only had three baserunners all day, allowing two walks. The Hawkeyes scoreless streak in the postseason has reached to 23.
Mid Valley's Alex Varaksa kept the Hawkeyes off the board for 8 innings, striking out 6, walking 1 and scattering 6 hits.
Hanover Area threatened several times to score. In the 2nd inning, Peters hit a single, Rimmer would sacrifice to move Peters to second, but a pop up and a fly out ended the threat. The Sixth Inning was their best chance to score. John Morgan and Christian Pack singled then Austin Gately walked to load the bases with 1 but a pop out in foul ground and a strikeout ended the threat. The ninth inning started with a fly out to right, Matt Clarke would single and come out for a pinch runner in Lloyd Deno. Mike Piscotty sacrificed to the pitcher then Kyle Windt hit a bloop single to center to bring home Lloyd Deno to send the Hawkeyes to the District Final for the second straight year.
